Having Sciatic Pain?

Experience Relief with Neuromuscular and NeuroKinetic Therapy

"Angie is always very thorough and makes me feel like she cares. No matter where I'm having pain, I always get relief."

- Melodeene M.

Certified Neuromuscular Massage Therapist and NeuroKinetic Therapist at Nashville Neuromuscular Care. We treat sciatic pain and educate the client on how their postural patterns might be influencing this pain pattern.

The session will include going over the client's history, a postural evaluation, as well as muscle testing and Range of Motion testing depending on the client's pain level. Based on the information gathered, treatment will include working on the overactive muscles to release trigger points that may have developed and activating the muscles that are under active creating the imbalance. Sometimes trigger points in the piriformis and other musculature might mimic sciatic pain.

We will also discuss work, sleep, and driving positions and repetitive patterns that might be impacting posture and contributing to the pain.

Most of the time the soft tissue pain syndromes we see can be resolved by following our specific neuromuscular and corrective movement recommendations. However, there are incidents of pain that are not caused simply by muscle or postural imbalances, and these situations may require medical intervention. If you have dramatic sudden loss of strength or muscle size, extreme coordination problems, bowel or bladder dysfunction, or a deadened numbness with no feeling as opposed to a superficial 'numb like' sensation, you should see your doctor for medical evaluation. If you are unsure if what you're experiencing may be a more serious issue, please seek medical attention first.
