Helping People Help Themselves

MICHAEL HITE is a Certified Fascial Stretch Therapist (level II) trained by the Stretch to Win Institute. A certified fitness trainer, he started his fitness career in 2004 in Knoxville, TN where he was mentored by Jackie Ansley CEO of Performance Training Inc.  At PTI he worked with a wide variety of athletic populations ranging from grade schoolers to professional athletes.  Michael’s years of working with the competitive athlete helped him develop his skill in recognizing the movement and strain patterns he sees in the non-uniform-wearing clients he works with today.

His training with Ann and Chris Frederick at the Stretch to Win Institute built on those skills and took things to a new level by entering into the fascinating world of fascia.  Studying and understanding the three-dimensional connectedness of the myofascial system allows Michael to see more clearly the sources of dysfunctional movement and how to restore better posture and acture using the manual  hands-on approach called Fascial Stretch TherapyÔ.

FST is a great complement to our Trigger Point and Neuromuscular Massage Therapy and we are delighted to add this service to our compendium of bodywork techniques for relieving pain, improving posture, and restoring movement.

Michael holds a Level II Certification in Functional Movement Systems under Gray Cook, one of the most influential people in Michael’s foundational training approach.  He is also certified in HardStyle Kettlebell (HKC) and uses kettlebells to teach proper movement patterns and enhance body awareness in the training capacity of his private practice.

Nashville Neuromuscular Center is proud to provide Michael’s expertise in Fascial Stretch TherapyÔ  to our clients. In perfect alignment with our model of MyoFascial rebalancing and pain relief, this technique can be profound.  (Charles Barkley does it!)
